The Italian government proposed a European border guards corps to develop on an embryo of joint forces operating in international airports. The European Commission made a plan for an integrated management of the EU's external borders, and called for setting up the EU border police in four to five years

NWO News: German chancellor Gerhard Schröder expressed moderate interest in the proposal put forward by leaders of three large EU states to elect an EU president for a five year period, which would replace the present system of a rotating presidency held by each EU state. After a meeting on Tuesday with the president of the Convention on the EU future Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, Mr Schröder warned the proposal would dramatically affect the way the EU works and the relations between EU institutions. Rumors of Wars: Pakistan has denied suggestions by U.S. Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld that terrorists from Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network are operating in Kashmir.
